I have a friend who recently got married…a civil service wedding so far…they are both Thai and there will be a beautiful Thai wedding soon!! They moved in together and have a great little apartment. He is my best friend since high school, and I am so happy for him and his wife! They are soooo cute! (See photo proof of their cuteness below!)

His wife listed the following photo on her myspace page as being things that she would die to have…and I KNOW I have seen these pieces before, but can’t for the life of me find them!!! I would love to get a gift certificate for them or along with my family buy them a piece as a wedding gift…does anyone know where to find them, or what company they are?? I checked on other blogs that I could sware I would find them on like Design Sponge…to no avail!

SO this is my weird weekend post…anyone who knows where I can find this furniture…will get a special jewelry surprise in the mail!!! Just email me (sidonia7@gmail.com) or post here and include your email so I can get your address to send you your jewelry surprise! PLEASE HELP!!!

Whitney Smith Pottery

I recently purchased a sugar and creamer set from Whitney Smith Pottery in red, and I could not be happier!  I realized after having people from work over one night, that I was in dire need of such a set when I asked them if they’d like coffee and proceeded to put the sugar in a small tea cup and the half gallon of milk on the counter!  Not that there’s anything wrong with that…but…in my mother’s house it was forbidden to put any containers on the table…she just liked a pretty table!  I guess it stuck with me.  So now, I have this lovely set to share with my guests.  The dogwood bloom on the sugar bowl cover is my favorite as well as the sweeping shape that the small creamer has.  Of course I ordered in red!  The rest of her pieces are just as wonderful, they are simple but powerful shapes with a kind of quietness that I love.

(This is my set!!!)

“Bird Bowl” $62.00

“Five Nesting Lotus Bowls” $210

I admit it, I am utterly addicted to cute.  These little stuffed friends from Cupcakes for Clara feed my addiction and then some.  You can adopt a fat little robin, or a polar bear family or even a panda or a kitty!  I have a few of these favorited and am mildly afraid of them disappearing if I post them, but…I must for the greater good.  Anyway, they’re cute, they’re well made and seriously who doesn’t need a fat little robin on their shelf…surely we all do?

“Robin Fattie” $62

“Mummy and Baby Polar Bears” $100

“Bonnie” $57

Vintage Canister Sets

January 21st, 2008 Kristen Posted in For The Home No Comments »

While I was in Rhinebeck (see a few posts previous) I bought a set of vintage canisters that I LOVE! (exactly like the fist set below) I was curious about what else was out there, and found several sets on Etsy for REALLY reasonable prices. As it turns out, the set I bought is on Etsy right now…for considerably less than I paid for it! I don’t think it was up there before I left…darnit! Anyway, I thought I would share a few of these sets with all of you. In my apartment I mix vintage with modern…how about all of you?

The artwork of Jessica Gonacha

December 4th, 2007 Kristen Posted in For The Home 1 Comment »

These tables are only a small piece of the collection that is shown on Jessica Gonacha’s website, there are many more larger scale paintings, and mini paintings. She also has an Etsy shop where she sells smaller pieces, prints, mirrors and coaster sets! I was immediately drawn to her tables, I love the bold blocks of color and the detailing. I could easily see one of these tables in my apartment!

I have recently discovered TTV photography (the images are taken “through the viewfinder” of an older camera  to give the images a more vintage feel.) on Etsy and I love the look of it!  Aside from photos, I found these pretty little night lights by House of Six Cats Photography!  They are a beautiful addition to any room in the daytime, and then at night, a soft glowing image appears!  They have daylight sensors too so  you don’t have to turn them on and off.  Also, they make the perfect gift for that friend of yours who is still afraid of the dark…(like me!!)

“Zen Bridge Art Night-light” $12

“Aged Flowers Art Night-light” $12

But here I’d like to show you some of her placemat designs from her 12 Gypsies shop. Awesome retro flower designs for the holidays in red, or fountain grass in black and white. They would look lovely with your holiday meal as the backdrop!
