Coty Lee On Etsy

March 4th, 2010 Kristen Posted in Clothing No Comments »

You KNOW how I am forever trying to find plus sized clothing on Etsy? Well…I FINALLY found Coty Lee on Etsy who not only custom made me two pieces, (one of which I am wearing right now) but they are SO AWESOME! It blows my mind that I am in NY and she is in NC and yet she was able, with nothing more than my measurements to make me the two most amazing tops in my closet right now. They fit PERFECTLY. I knew that since I was not right in front of her there was always the risk of things running a bit too big or too small, but it was perfect, end of story. Obviously I have to share her with you, even tho I’d love to keep her all to myself. So without further ado, here are some pieces from Coty Lee, who you should absolutely check out!

The first piece is what I ordered, one in all grey and one in blue with black accents. The second piece is from her new Spring line and I am sure more will be coming soon! The jacket is something I just loved, and am still considering…I feel it could definitely be worn into the Spring…and the color is just beautiful! I will be happily stalking her store from now on.

“Ruffled Tie Neck Dress with Pintuck Pockets” $85

“Red and Tan Pocket Dress with Buttons” $78

“Pintuck Cranberry Fleece Jacket” $125

Not only do I love the great lines and the feel of the clothing from Heidi and Seek, but I am taken with her eco-conscious creedo about her pieces.  She uses reclaimed materials to create her edgy clothing in order to prevent damage to the environment!  What could be better…stylin’ duds…that don’t harm our planet?  Check out her Etsy shop as well as her portfolio on her site!

I am forever having an Indie Clothing downer because I have yet to find a company who carries a real plus sized line, sooooooooo since I cannot buy from most of these companies, I have to share them with the rest of you, with the hopes that you will be able to partake in the fun and inspiring designs for me!!!  I was looking for red, (it’s a favorite color of mine) and up popped this Red Riding Hood dress/tunic from Replicca Clothing.  I was instantly intrigued, so I continued to browse and am I glad I did.  There are tons of absolutely adorable tops and tunic dresses available from their shop.  I was attracted to the shoulder detailing and also the feminine bows and ruffles!  Hailing from Ontario Canada, all the shop’s owner and designer Rebecca Duyzer want to do is “romace her sweing machines all day”, and from the looks of her designs I think that’s a good idea…keep em coming!

1. “Patchwork the Second, Large” $47

2. “Tease Me Please, SALE, Small” $32.75

3. “Ruffle Ruffle Bow, Small” $46

4. “Stripe Me Delighted, Medium” $47

5. “Little Red Riding HOOD, Large” $55

6. “Sail Away With Me, Medium” $38.75

It’s not cold yet, but it will be soon…YAY! That means it will be time for comfy sweaters, and knits! On that note, I saw these pieces by Coccole di Lana on Etsy’s main page Saturday afternoon. I really love the first one, it’s got a vintage feel, and I love the flower details. Each one has a different stitch and feel. There are more things in the shop too…some scarves and also beautiful knit necklaces. Made by hand from Merino wool, mohair and even silk these pieces are not only fun but functional….as if you’d need another reason to buy one!!!

“GIOIA Knitted Shrug” $70

“DELICATO Knitted Shrug” $85

“BUDINO Shrug” $88

TEZ

March 28th, 2008 Kristen Posted in Accessories, Clothing, For Men No Comments »

Not too long ago I featured some Indie items from Georgie Love an online Australian Indie shop! TEZ, is another of those fine crafters and I thought that it might be nice to post about something for the men in the audience for a change…if they’re out there??? Since my hubby surely doesn’t have the same enthusiasm for my handmade jewelry collection, baby items, or my collection of tiny crochet animals…I thought maybe we’d throw him a bone here! These ties by TEZ caught my eye and I thought what a fantastic gift for your hard to buy for, fashion forward Indie friend! I love the skulls, they are vintage and recycled, and lets face it stripes are always a plus!

Matilda Jane makes sweet, cheeky clothing for little girls to be themselves in! The pieces are fun and bright with a whimsical feel, they make you smile just looking at them. I can only imagine what it would feel like to be a little one wearing these fantastical pieces. They speak to childhood, and imagination to me, and if they’d have been around when I was a little girl…I would have lived in them!
