Gabriel’s Aunt

October 3rd, 2008 Kristen Posted in Bath and Body 1 Comment »

I found Gabriel’s Aunt on my cue in recent posts and while searching for an alternative to the candles in the stores.  I want something more natural, and something that’s not toxic as it burns.  I turned of course to Etsy to see what I could find.  The candles and perfumes are made with 100% natural elements and customers say that they love the warm and gentle “throw” that the candles give off.  As opposed to the harsh “yankee candle” effect, soy candles burn with a much more mellow scent that permeates every room!  Great gifts for the holidays especially for a Holiday Party for your host and hostess!  I also wanted to mention a blog post that was made by Gabriel’s Aunt on her blog that I really felt needed to be shared.  Please take a look at the post and lets all remember to support Handmade this season, and always: Today’s Post on Gabriels’ Aunt.

“Walk in the Woods, Pine and Juniper

Woodsy and Fresh Scented 8oz. Candle” $23

“Sweet Magnolia Solid Perfume Cream, Magnolia, Mimosa and Citrus Scent” $30

Bathtime Beckons

My first thought was “great name” because sometimes after a long day on your feet, with one too many people making you nutso, bath time sure does beckon…or in my case…screams!  I only wish I had a nice 6ft jetted tub to sit in…but I digress!  My point is, just looking at the caramel apple soaps from Bathtime Beckons makes me wanna dive in.  Besides it’s always a plus coming out of the bath smelling like one of the hubby’s favorite foods!

“Caramel Apple Shea Bar” $3.50

“Vanilla Hazelnut Soap Bar – Vegan” $3.50

(All delightful flavor concoctions and images are property of Bathtime Beckons!)

Orion Botanica

I was at a friend’s house recently and noticed a sweet smell in the air all day that I couldn’t locate the source of…I kept wondering what she had made for dessert…8) It wasn’t until later than I noticed a diffuser on the top shelf of a bookcase in the living room. I have purchased them before, but had never really loved the scents. It turns out my friend had purchased from Orion Botanica…the “sugar” scent! Aside from the sweet perfume that permeated her home, the bottle was quite beautiful…as is the packaging! Take a look at their online store, they also carry Potpourri, candles, as well as linen and room sprays.

As an added plus, if you purchase the Home Perfume Diffuser, a $5 donation is made to Breast Cancer Research.

“Home Perfume Diffusers” $32

Vintage Body Spa!!!

March 26th, 2007 Kristen Posted in Bath and Body No Comments »

I will admit it…I am a bit addicted to moisturizers, and creams that make me smell yummy…I am a woman after all…and I have been in the market for such creams all my life! I have tried every “brand” name out there over the years and have yet to be happy with any of them. So, after I discovered the Indie world…and realized there was a whole new approach to these things I craved…I decided to try again! I ordered the Wherever Body Cream from Vintage Body Spa, in Apple Rose and Rice Flower. And I am in heaven!!! They are rich and smooth and make your skin feel like velvet! The best part for me tho…WOW…do they smell good! The Rice Flower is a clean crisp scent…that I love to wear almost every day…whereas the Apple Rose is my hubby’s favorite…it is such a succulent flavor…it’s hard not to try and lick the lid! As a surprise I was also sent their Butter Beans used for bath time…and let me tell you…I have MADE time for bath time!! They are so awesome!!! Your whole body is enveloped…it is so relaxing and wonderful. The scent lingers…so all day you are smelling faintly sweet…8) I should also mention that they are packaged wonderfully so they make great gifts! Take a look at the site, and by all means don’t take my word for it…try them for yourself!!

“Butter Beans” starting at $12

“Wherever Body Cream” $11
