Indie Love was born in January of 2007 while I was pouring over items on Etsy and wanting many of them. I am a self professed shop-a-holic. Not just any shop-a-holic…but the kind who loves all things handmade!
Being a jewelry artist myself, I understand and identify with the time it takes to create, and how special it is to own something that someone poured their heart and soul into!
I love owning things that are stitched, sewed, beaded, glued, painted, drawn and finagled together by other artisans. If you can make it…I wanna see it! And then most of the time, I wanna OWN it…8)
My Coquito Designs jewelry business, and Indie Love blog, are only two pieces of me tho…I love to sing (in the car or the shower I mean…who doesn’t?) …I love jazz, as well as other old and new music…and singers with soulful voices like Ella Fitzgerald, Feist, Amy Winehouse, (just wish she’d eat again and stop the other stuff)KT Tunstall., Anna Nalick, Corinne Bailey Rae, Alicia Keys, Aretha, etc…too many to list!
I am a plus sized “diva” who is married since 2003, and who loves her hubby with all her being. There would be no me without him! I call him my better half. He’s the other side of the brain tho…math and electrical things and such…
Basically, I love things, I love to see them and make them and own them and watch other people make them. I love imagination, and how it works a little differently in all of us, and I love creativity and the individual who is not afraid to wield it.
